Michael Jackson is the most recognizable celebrity in our world today - did any effort at all go into the casting process for this role?

If the pictures provided by VH1 so far are anything to go by, Flex Alexander looks more like the 3rd cousin of Jermaine Jackson's drinking buddy, than Michael Jackson.

Does anyone know of an interview or otherwise some sort of explanation as to why someone like E'Casanova wasn't chosen for the part, whose career has been devoted to imitating Jackson and who has played him in various movies? *

And this is just looking at the pics. I agree w/artstar: They couldn't have gotten an impersonator to play MJ? C'mon V fucking H1. Common sense couldn't tell you that? Not only would you have had to try so "hard" making him more MJ-like using Flex, but you'd be able to inject some dignity into this. This piece looks like a joke. LOL I went through about 28pages of these pics at MJJF and I had the best laugh in ages, it all looks like a spoof, like they've taken that flex guy outside and tipped a bucket of flour over him!
