Here's an interesting article:

KAUAI News
Wailua's Sumi stands by Michael Jackson, his former boss
By Tom Finnegan - The Garden Island

As the media circus that is the Michael Jackson molestation trial heads to a jury today, Friday, June 3, at least one Kaua‘i resident believes that Jackson is innocent, and will be freed. That's Rod Sumi of Wailua, a former employee at Jackson's Neverland Ranch, the site of the alleged molestation.

"If the jury has any sense, they can see" it's about the money, Sumi said. "I don't know what happened after I left, but I know what happened when I was there."

And, Sumi said, Neverland was a wonderful place where he brought his own children without reservation or fear. And that was during the time when Jackson was first accused of molestation.

Sumi said he worked at the ranch from 1988-1992, first as a security guard, as a firefighter and, finally, in the maintenance department in charge of maintaining and running the amusement-park rides.

Armed with an employee handbook, various phone directories, and photos of the ranch, Sumi sat down with The Garden Island yesterday to defend his former employer, even though he signed a confidentiality agreement against speaking publicly about what he saw while on the job at Neverland.

He said he would face a possible lawsuit to clear the air about his former boss.

"I'm not trying to stick up for him," said Sumi. "He's a weird dude. But being strange doesn't make him a pedophile."

Sumi said that, while Jackson's behavior has been strange in the past, he has been nothing but supportive of children, especially those with serious illnesses. He's even seen Jackson with a bevy of women.

"I saw him interact with girls," he said. "He was just like any other guy with a girl.

"He never struck me as gay at all," Sumi continued. "I never would have gone to work for him. I definitely never would have brought" the children to the ranch.

"The weirdest thing about him is he's so bashful," Sumi added. "He was a kid, acting like all the other kids."

As for Jackson's admission that he slept with his accuser, but that nothing sexual happened, Sumi said he believes it's typical of the pop star.

"Michael's so innocent," he said. "A sleepover: that's all he's thinking about it. He just doesn't think of" the sexual connotations.

But Jackson should have thought about the message he sent across, Sumi added.

The Kaua‘i resident, who said the only reason he left the park was to move to Kaua‘i with his family in 1992, remembers fondly the times he spent at the park, especially being able to help kids who couldn't turn anywhere else.

In fact, Sumi said, the reason for the park in the first place was for disabled kids who couldn't ride the Ferris wheel, the Zipper, or the Spider rides.

"That was the main idea to build the park, giving kids something they couldn't normally have," he said, "children where, in a normal park, they couldn't interact, but at Neverland they did."

Kids in wheelchairs, kids with fatal illnesses, kids with muscular dystrophy, they were the reason for Neverland Ranch's rides, and the source of Jackson's joy, Sumi said.

"He was up in the morning, drinking his coffee, just like anyone else," he said.

And the accusations, that the boy was plied with alcohol, was strictly against the rules while he was there, he said.

"Not even his brothers could bring in a beer," Sumi continued, adding that people were thrown out of the ranch for drinking alcohol on the premises. The only exception he said he saw was at Elizabeth Taylor's wedding. He added that was also the craziest day of work, with dozens of helicopters buzzing overhead, a skydiving cameraman who landed in the compound, and training provided two weeks prior by former Israeli Army members. Sumi added that few children were ever allowed into the house. And sneaking around at night was impossible, with dozens of motion-activated alarms around the grounds and the house. He said he even testified on Jackson's behalf four or five times when former employees sued the pop star, and said he was present when Jackson settled one of the claims against him.

Sumi said the workers scoffed at the accusations, and he believed Jackson settled the case so he didn't have to deal with the lengthy and public trial.

He's coming forward because he can't stand to watch Jackson's name sullied anymore.

"I'm enraged at the B.S. that's going on," he said. "I'd take the chance of him suing me because I think it needs to be told the way it is because he's getting a bad rap."

Sumi said he can't watch much of the trial because it enrages him so.

"My main objective is to tell the story as I see it," he said. "I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I shut my mouth."

He said he regrets leaving the job, which gave him such an amazing feeling being able to help such disadvantaged children.

"I had a dream of eight years of moving to Kaua‘i," Sumi continued. "This was a mean-time thing, a fluke. But I promised my family," and they left California for Kaua‘i.

"He gave me a great opportunity," Sumi said of Jackson. "I loved my job. The whole idea of building the park was the greatest. We had a lot of fun."

And Sumi's children enjoyed the experience, too, he said. "My own kids played with Michael," Sumi added. "I never saw him be anything but a gentleman."

How wonderful to see Janet!!!
Prejudice, ignorance, bigotry: NO! We're all a part of the Rhythm Nation!

The media only cares about ratings. If they were to come out and say, "the DA did a horrible job and there is no way MJ will be found guilty" normal people would not watch.

Jackson Lawyer Says Accusations Are a Con

By TIM MOLLOY, Associated Press Writer 3 minutes ago

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - The family accusing
Michael Jackson of child molestation and other crimes is trying to pull "the biggest con of their careers," the pop star's lead attorney told jurors Friday in the second day of closing arguments.

"They just need you to help them," attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. told the panel of eight women and four men.

Mesereau resumed his argument shortly after a gaunt-looking Jackson arrived at court with parents Joe and Katherine Jackson, sisters Janet and LaToya, and brothers Jermaine, Tito and Randy, among other family members. Jackson clutched his mother's arm as he walked in.

"Michael's innocent!" came shouts from some in a crowd of about 75 people standing outside. Fans, whose numbers dwindled to about 10 a day over the long weeks of trial, were back in larger numbers along with some prosecution supporters.

Mesereau was to conclude his closing argument Friday, after which the prosecution was to make its rebuttal. The case then goes to the jury.

Mesereau began his closing Thursday. He told the jury that prosecutors portrayed Jackson as a hard-drinking, porn-collecting pedophile to "dirty up" the pop star because they couldn't prove their case that he molested a child.

Earlier, Senior Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen had told jurors that Jackson had brought his accuser, then a 13-year-old cancer survivor, "into the world of the forbidden." Zonen said Jackson lowered the boy's inhibitions by giving him alcohol and showing him pornography before molesting him in the bedroom of the entertainer's Neverland Ranch.

The defense countered that the accuser's family consisted of "con artists, actors and liars," adding that the prosecution showed the weakness of its case by personally attacking Mesereau during closing arguments.

"Whenever a prosecutor does that you know they're in trouble," Mesereau told jurors. "This is not a popularity contest between lawyers."

Prosecutors, Mesereau said, also engaged in a "nasty attempt, a barbaric attempt" to attack Jackson personally by bringing up his financial problems, alcohol consumption, collection of adult magazines and "sagging music career."

Jackson, who had looked glum Wednesday, said "I'm OK" as he left court Thursday.

News reports surfaced late Thursday night that Jackson was briefly hospitalized for dehydration after leaving court. His spokeswoman, Raymone K. Bain, denied that he was hospitalized.

"Not true," Bain told The Associated Press, adding that the rumor may have been fueled by advice to Jackson from comedian-turned-nutritionist d**k Gregory that he receive a shot of electrolytes because he appeared dehydrated. Bain said she didn't know if Jackson followed through and got such a shot.

Jackson, 46, is charged with molesting the boy in 2003, plying him with wine and conspiring to hold his family captive to get them to rebut the documentary "Living With Michael Jackson."

He would face prison if convicted of all charges, although the term is uncertain because of many sentencing variables. Former San Francisco prosecutor Jim Hammer, now a legal analyst, has said the term could be more than 20 years.

In the documentary, Jackson holds hands with the boy and says he allows children into his bed for innocent, non-sexual sleepovers. Zonen said it was toward the end of a period in which the accuser and his family stayed at Neverland that "the behavior had turned to something terribly illegal."

He said Jackson began giving the boy alcohol and even though his mother at that time was unaware of any molestation, she insisted that her family leave Neverland.

"For all her shortcomings, after learning Michael Jackson was giving her son alcohol, in 36 hours she had her children out of there," Zonen said.

Mesereau said the real issue was "whether the accuser's family was credible," and tore into the prosecutor's claim that the boy's mother wasn't out for money.

He said the mother had asked celebrities for financial help, sued J.C. Penney after alleging that guards beat her family, and applied for welfare 10 days after getting a $152,000 settlement from the department store.

"If you do not believe (the family) beyond a reasonable doubt, Mr. Jackson must be acquitted. That's the law," Mesereau said.

Zonen acknowledged that the mother fraudulently applied for welfare while trying to support three children, but asserted that was the only thing she had ever done that was proven to be wrong.

The prosecutor ridiculed the idea the boy's mother could have made up the entire molestation story and prompted her children to lie in order to make money with a future lawsuit against Jackson.

"It's unmitigated rubbish," he said.

NEWS REPORTS ::from reporter inside the court Room yesterday

He said that today it is very good that Mj showed up with the entire family just like the first day.. and that the Jury got the POINT.. support..love and pride...

says that yesterday.. was devastating for the Prosecution.. he was inside courtroom..and saw a powerfull delivery from MEz.. says that him and his coleagues.. definetely after coming out of court.. thought that Michael Jackson is innocent.. he had the impression that that jury after the end of the recess.. basicaly felt like them.. Mez you don't need to tell us more.. Your client is innocent..
feels that it was improper for Zonen to spend most of his time attacking Mez and says that when Zonen said Mj was a homosexual serial pedo..and dangerous predator.. that lures children to his house .. buys the family's trusts and the takes those kids to molest them.. EVERYBODY felt that it would of been good if they had VICTIMS.. but that if that was the case where are the victims.. besides the current accuser..the one from 93 that never showed up ..and the son of the maid who was clearly not convincing on the stand...
Says that today Mez should be more POWERFUL THAN BEFORE.. predicts Acquital of all charges and if Michael Jackson wanted he could get on top of the suv because he would be free then.

"For all her shortcomings, after learning Michael Jackson was giving her son alcohol, in 36 hours she had her children out of there," Zonen said.

So between the time that the family were being "falsely imprisoned" it was almost near impossible for them to escape from Michael's company, but now that she allegdly acknewledged the fact that her son was being plied with alcohol she somehow found a way to "get out of there" - uhmm

I hope that the defense during closing statements address the ever changing affidavits and transcripts from the Arvizo family to the jury. I also hope he elaborates on the viriation's between the orginal indictment and the charges which are displayed on the indictment today.

Although the defense have already reflected on how the family orginally went to a civil lawyer 4 months before reporting molestation etc to the authorities, I want him to make this point more apparent to the jury when he concludes. We all know that the only reason why the family were inclined to pay a visit to a civil laywer was because they wanted to extort money from Michael by fabricating false accusation's. But what they weren't aware of was that they would have to go through a criminal trial before they could attempt to file for a lawsuit.

Plus by going through a criminal trial and gaining a conviction would increase their chance's in becoming successful of getting a "pay day" in a civil trial.

T-Mez continuing closing in saying that there are too many inconsistancies in story, the changes in dates, the number of times he claimed to be molested different times changed. T-Mez said he is a liar and their stories flip flipped all over the place. If you convict MJ of anything, you'll make these people instant millionaires and that's what they are hoping for, that's what they are waiting for. After a conviction they'll be filing lawsuits, that's what they are wanting...a conviction to file a suite. Purgery is a habit to this family, they purgered themselves right here in this courtroom.

Stay tuned.....

Yes!!! Just what I wanted him to discuss.

Host: Savannah, we just saw the parties stepping out of the courtroom for the break. The judge is very, very set on that schedule. They are taking that daily break at 10 minutes even though it is the middle of Mr. Mesereau's argument which i guess affects the pacing of it. We did see Michael Jackson. I don't want to read too much into it, but he had a little more spring to his step after sitting there and listening to Mesereau preach his case to the jury. One of the things we have talked about is all the evidence that never came in this case. Mr. Mesereau has done the same talking, has he not, about the evidence not found at Neverland ranch where the crimes are alleged to have occurred?
Guthrie: Yes, he has. He has hit hard on two things. Floor forensics. No DNA, no semen, no fingerprints where the alleged molestation is said to have occurred. No bodily fluids. He said there's no forensics to back up and corroborate that the boy said. The fingerprints on a couple of girlie magazines is not trustworthy. He says it doesn't prove anything. He is pointing out that there was never any kiddy porn found at Neverland. He made a big deal out of that yesterday. The prosecutors like to parade the pornography collection to embarrass and dehumanize Mr. Jackson. But he said there was never any child pornography. There's never been any allegation that Michael Jackson showed pornography to any child. Zonen said the pornography is not for him, it is to sexualize the boys he wants to molest.

Zonen is full of shit! Michael uses the magazines to arouse young boys? Before Gavin, Michael is not alleged to have messed with any kid after 1993. So, basically, he took a ten year hiatus from molesting boys! Let me guess, Michael bought up all this porn when he met Gavin in hopes it would seduce him, right? Another thing, Michael met this boy in 2000 or 2001, why would he wait 2-3 years later when he comes under fire for the Bashir documentary to molest him? & let me guess, Mike was just buying all this porn up specifically to molest this boy 2-3 years later? This case gives me me an alser!
