Microsoft already featured the top search terms entered in its Bing search engine this year, leading us to conclude that "Michael Jackson Beats Out Twitter". On Bing, that is.
But we could have picked nearly the same headline for Google's just-published Zeitgeist 2009, only it would read "Michael Jackson Beats Out Twitter, Facebook And Windows 7¿.
Google once again examined the billions of queries that people around the world typed into its search box for the past year, weeded out the spam and NSFW stuff and came up with this list of the fastest rising search terms on a global level:
1. michael jackson
2. facebook
3. tuenti
4. twitter
5. sanalika
6. new moon
7. lady gaga
8. windows 7
9. dantri.com.vn

I'm not surprised. His passing was so unexpected that it threw everyone for a loop! The interest in Michael has been astronomical since June 25th. Why is it that people don't get the recognition they deserve until it's too late?

I've ALWAYS been a HUGE Michael fan but since he passed, I guess you can say I upgraded to an addict lol. I cried for months after hearing of his passing. I still cry at times. It happened just a week before my 19th birthday. Some present, huh?

I cried like a little baby too Niia, I went to my mammas house and cried and cried for a week.
I think perhaps people are starting to open their eyes to Michael, when they see all the tributes and stuff on tv and memorabilia it's like 'oh yeah, Michael Jackson'. They weren't seeing him because of some crap the media makes up, they were seeing him as a complete human being, who had the ability to die like other human beings. And I think a lot of these people probably were fans before but they'd hidden away, you know, it's it's easier to hate Michael than it is to like him. One one hand, maybe if Michael got this respect before he wouldn't have died in the first place, but on the other hand, if people are going to treat him as an object of entertainment and nothing more, then the world doesn't deserve him. In my opinion he died because he deserved so much better than the crap he was getting here. Maybe people will open their eyes next time.

I didn't know I could cry as much as I did when Michael died. I got no sleep from balling my eyes out.

I was numb when I first heard it. I don't think it really sunk in till like a week later. I was watching the memorial service and Paris was talking and I just broke down! It's getting better, but there are still those days when I feel lost.

I was okay until they pulled out the casket. Now I don't cry anymore, it's out of my system. I just listen to his music like I always have and pray that his children are alright and that justice is served for him.

What's a misanthrope?
Jeniffer, WHERE did you get that picture of someone's artwork tribute? I think on another thread somone posted a picture similar to that, it makes me cry/feel warm and fuzzy inside to see artwork like that as a tribute to Michael...

Ofcourse he is, the whole world practically shut down when Michael died, which surprised me because they treated him like sh*t!
