Whoever is a Fan of Stranger in Moscow...

Can I just say that I am in love with this song? Last night, I was listening to it almost for the first time since I bought TUC earlier this year...

I was in my sister's SUV and her sound system is freakin' awesome. Damn her to pieces. <_< hmph.

Anyway, it sounded so much better than what I'm accustomed to! and I found myself putting it on repeat, leaning back, and just appreciating it. I love everything about this song, from beginning to solemn end: Michael's voice is beautiful. The composition is beautiful and haunting. It's such a sad song, yet it makes me smile hearing it.

What are your thoughts?

I think you have expressed yourself beautifully Carla. :)
My thoughts... I love it. It is simple, and the music is amazing. The rain is beautiful. I love the video. I think that the photography for the video is just sensational and classic. The faces of all of those individuals all tell a different story. It is perfect. I swear that video is genious in itself. And... random note: I enjoy pausing it when Michael reaches his hand toward the sky. That hand is large. Very large.

ROTFL.

Same with his foot that stomps the water puddle.  Foot's nice and big, I think. :D

Carla....join the club! haha

Stranger in Moscow has always been my fav. song of all time and not just an MJ song but out of anyone- thats my fav song song. I listened to it oneday a few years ago and got that feeling in your stomach when you are nervous,anxious,moved,excited- you know that mushy feeling? I got that and had goosebumps. Everything about that song is amazing- its like a confession from Michael and sounds so sad and personal. His voice has never sounded more soulful and the beat is just--ahh its the best.

The video isnt too shabby either:)

I'm glad I'm not alone! His voice is so melancholy, and yet it's not necessarily a distressing song to hear. In other words, I don't feel deep down depressed after it ends. In fact, I find myself rooting for the brother and feeling all ready to just throw myself at him.

Really, I do!

I love every lyric; every word sounds so emotional. When he sings "here abandoned in my fame"...and "how does it feel when you're alone and cold inside..." I get all "awww, Michael...Come here and let me hug you." :D

Ohh my goodness, Stranger in Moscow is definitely one of my top 3 favorites song by any artist. :D I've always loved it and it brings such indescribable emotions. Michael's voice is simply amazing in this song, just like his performance. I can watch History Tour Bucharest '97 over and over again and I'll never get tired of it. It's pure perfectionism. :)

Stranger in Moscow

Written and composed by Michael Jackson.
Produced by Michael Jackson.

I was wandering in the rain
Mask of life, feelin’ insane
Swift and sudden fall from grace
Sunny days seem far away
Kremlin’s shadow belittlin’ me
Stalin’s tomb won’t let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish the rain would just let me

How does it feel (how does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you’re alone
And you’re cold inside

Here abandoned in my fame
Armageddon of the brain
Kgb was doggin’ me
Take my name and just let me be
Then a begger boy called my name
Happy days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came
And again, and again, and again...
Take my name and just let me be

How does it feel (how does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (how does it feel now)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you’re alone
And you’re cold inside

How does it feel (how does it feel)
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel
How does it feel (how does it feel now)
How does it feel
How does it feel
When you’re alone
And you’re cold inside

Like stranger in moscow
Like stranger in moscow
We’re talkin’ danger
We’re talkin’ danger, baby
Like stranger in moscow
We’re talkin’ danger
We’re talkin’ danger, baby
Like stranger in moscow
I’m livin’ lonely
I’m livin’ lonely, baby
Stranger in moscow

(kgb interrogator -
Russian to english translation)
Why have you come from the west?
Confess! to steal the great achievements of
The people, the accomplishments of the workers...

Amazing lyrics. I get a bunch of inspiration just by reading them. More correctly said, I have been inspired by these lyrics before. I've actually written several poems based on them. I love every word, every tune, every breath.

I remember how instantly I fell in love with that song the very first time I heard it because it so much reflected what was going on in my life at the time. It was the summer of '95, I was 11 and my grandpa had passed away, and I was facing a lot of dramatic changes in my life, and that song was such a comfort to me. Whenever I hear that song now, I always think of that time.

I think a lot of people find something in that song to relate to.

The thing about this song, like so many of Michael's, is that it's completely unique. There is no other song like it.

And no one can sing it like him.

The sadness he felt during that time was real...And you don't have to listen to it twice to feel what he was feeling!

I didn't used to be a huge fan of the song *puts on bullet proof vest now, LMAO  *, BUT that changed during the trial, when that song--as well as most of the rest of the HIStory album in general--took on even more meaning as it related back SO well to what Michael and his fans were going through at the time. :( That song also has a lot of personal, special memories for me and some of my friends about our experiences during that time--both the bad and the good. :)

It's brilliant.
