Imperfection Cries

[DarkChild]

Tears well in her eyes again
Blinking, silver drops float down
Her face imperfect.
She feels she doesn't deserve love
And that love is saved
For beauty, and she is not.

The mirror holds her wholly
Just as she is. Squinting now
She inspects her reflection
Concluding that she'll forever remain
Unwanted, unloved and unheld.

Inside she hopes that one day
She'll find someone not as shallow
As she is, about herself.
Hoping that one day she'll find someone
Who finds her beautiful.

But she knows thats a long shot.

And maybe she's found that someone
But no matter how sincere
The compliments may seem
She knows. Lies, all lies.
It's hard being stubborn sometimes.

The tears fall a river
Silver down her imperfect face
Down her neck, down her
Imperfect body. Her eyes follow
The lines and she cries
And she cries and she cries
And wishes for a miracle.
