One of the Most Shameful Episodes In Journalistic History

Hi Shelly,

I posted this in the New Articles sections.

It doesn't provide any new information for fans, but it wasn't targeted at us it was a missile at the media and a "did you know" for the public. It parrots most of Aprodite's book on facts, but what is does better and brilliantly is, it painted the landscape on which the events took place. Thomson really went through the media archives for this one. It portrays the toxic atmosphere of the media coverage from Diane Sawyer to Diane Dimond, he calls people out, and provides the transcripts to backup what he is saying. He points at news achors and mainstream TV shows who should know better, but did anyway. Needless to say I loved it!

I would like to add he forgot to mention the ex-wives. During all the madness & darkness you had the media salivating over LMP's tidbits about how she was manipulated and tricked during her marriage, and DR fighting for custody of her children with MJ. Could it have gotten any worse? Hell yeah! The judge allowed testimony from prior allegations into the the current trial creating a second trial within the first. Thomson says:
"When Michael Jackson died the media went into overdrive again. What drugs had killed him? How long had he been using them? Who had prescribed them? What else was in his system? How much did he weigh? But there was one question nobody seemed to want to ask: Why? "

Thomson forgot the best part, the new game that was invented by the media specially for Michael Jackson: Guess the Baby Daddy

But there was one question nobody seemed to want to ask: Why?

Why was Michael Jackson so stressed and so paranoid that he couldn't even get a decent night's sleep unless somebody stuck a tube full of anesthetic into his arm? I think the answer can be found in the results of various polls conducted in the wake of Michael Jackson's trial.

A poll conducted by Gallup in the hours after the verdict showed that 54% of White Americans and 48% of the overall population disagreed with the jury's decision of 'not guilty'. The poll also found that 62% of people felt Jackson's celebrity status was instrumental in the verdicts. 34% said they were 'saddened' by the verdict and 24% said they were 'outraged'. In a Fox News poll 37% of voters said the verdict was 'wrong' while an additional 25% said 'celebrities buy justice'. A poll by People Weekly found that a staggering 88% of readers disagreed with the jury's decision.

That just breaks my heart to pieces! :crying The sad part is that many of these people were probably crying and sh*t when his passing was announced! Hypocrites!

It's not really their fault. Lots of people just read the newspaper and watch television. They are not interested enough to take time to read the transcript, they have other things to do.

Yep. They just tune in to what the TV shows first and stick with that info. No way in hell people are gonna research into the Chandlers and Arvizo's history of fraud and how ridiculous that trial was. Only people who are genuinely interested in Michael and if he 'innocent' or not will look into it.

How often do you see people on the news reporting that Gavin's mom had history or welfare fraud and the issue they had with those bodyguards that she claimed sexually assaulted her?

Or how Jordan never spoke to Evan again and was separated from his mother?
Or how Evan tried to kill Jordan a few years back?
Or even how Evan killed himself?

We saw a few articles on the internet about how he was a depressed miserable man because of what happened to his son and how Michael jackson molested his poor little son and he was just being a good dad and the whole world hated him BLAH BLAH BLAH. DUDE. The father did not get molested. The child did. If anybody would be depressed it would be the child. Cause of his ass Jordan had to hide from the world or he and his father would have faced some serious consequences.

Maybe because he (Thomson) enjoyed the game for years.
