Paying to Die

this poem is a bit floopy and shit sounding :laugh but I think it gets the point across.

She exchanges her cash for a box of cigarettes,
using her hard earned money that she works for everyday
so that she can survive. Then she trades it for something
that's killing her.

She smokes a death-stick on her way to the salon
where the sign reads;"Hour in a sunbed, 20% off!"
She goes in and pays for an hour in a tube of something
that's killing her.

Later on she gets ready for a night out on the town
with some of her friends. She spends her money
on many drinks, to have fun, get wasted on something
that's killing her.

She gets out the last club and goes for a greasy take away.
She gives the last of her wage over the counter
for a dodgy kebab full of crap. She takes a bite of something
that's killing her.

Why waste the precious money we have
On things that are slowly killing us?
Whilst people around the world have no money
And they're dying, even though we could give some.
I'm sick of people paying to die.

Just something I've been thinking about for a while. Isn't it ironic that we all have so much money, we do stuff with it thats bad for us and killing us....yet theres people with no money in places like Africa who are struggling to survive because they don't have the money? If they knew what we were doing with our money... :uh_uh: it breaks my heart.

Aww I am guilty on 3 of these 4 so it didn't make me feel way too proud about it. It was really thoughtful!
