It's time for me to change my stride
Summer is here, I'm for the ride
Through the next season of my life
Cut my spring loose, away with strife
I'm feeling this change, here and now
My spring time's gotta take a bow
And enter the summer of my time
Hear the bells of the new me chime.

I believe I'm a summer girl at heart
I've been like that from the start
A warm paradise of sun and blue skies
Laying on my back and closing my eyes
Feeling the grass between my toes
And feeling a butterfly on my nose
Summer has always been part of me
And now it's here, let me set it free

As I approach my awaited adulthood
That sun is glowing like it should
Down on me, watching me go
Into a world, watching me grow
The summer of my life is dawning
And I can feel it every morning
As I wake up each day closer now
To my very own summer, I'll make a vow

That this will be the time for me
To finally live my life happily
In the sun, laying down
Wearing that smile, never a frown
Leaving all that old shit behind
I'll turn away, my eye blind
And I'll feel the heat of the sun
Warming me up, knowing I've won.
