Curtain Call

The final curtain falls on Friday.
Linens' journey to obstruct my view.
Playful hems, to spite my despair
bond the shrouds of my personal doom.

The final curtain falls on Friday.
Tears shed but sorrow carries on
for days which flocked to my back.
The breaths of yesterday lie with carrion.

The final curtain falls on Friday.
Clowns wander without trace of crying
as Maestro falls from grace.
Something inside of me is quickly dying.

The final curtain falls on Friday.
The Magician finds he's out of job
with his tricks his heart absconds.
He fails to shudder at the young girl's sobs.

The final curtain falls on Friday.
Gypsies dance to a fickle tune
of Circus Life and Circus Death.
Still above my fate looms.

The final curtain will fall on Friday
I dare not practice my bow.

Glory of the Law

Heartbeat races
Thrill of the win
Deceptive words, deceptive words
I mold an absolute truth.

Calculated lies
Power within
Decisions, decisions
With a future I toy.

Oh, sweet victory
Lonely outside my caress
My adrenaline pumps
My breath quickens
Floating on an ego high
My pride prevails
One life I change.

What of a conscience?
What of regret?
Stifled emotions never begrudge
To win, to win.

Night

She creeps in from every corner
Closing to envelop the day
Of Her, there is no foreigner
Unique creatures are invited to play

With Her arrival settles serenity
Mother Nature kicks back after work
Moon dances in this limelight of his glee
A wise man observes capricious Ocean's smirk

Around Earth children lay in bed
Awaiting tomorrow and losing today
Sugar plums and fairies dance in their head
Seduced by dreams they drift away

The great Maestro dispatches Her stars
They dance and sing a cosmic melody
Passing through - beings of intelligence from afar
Scoffing the beauty of Her majesty

Peace of mind, existance hath become
For now one unit, the Universe alone
When the eternal dance is done
She will concede Her famed throne

Momentarily Her blissfull caress will cease
She prepares to draw Her last breath
A million times more, Time will see
Another sun rising to her death
