Trump Wants Jackson to Perform in Vegas

NEW YORK (March 23) - What do Wayne Newton, Celine Dion and Michael Jackson have in common? If Donald Trump and his partners have their way, they all will have a resident performing gig in Las Vegas on their resumes.

Trump's Las Vegas partners have been courting Jackson to perform at the New Frontier Hotel and Casino, Us Weekly magazine reports. New Frontier owner Phil Ruffin and partner Jack Wishna have reportedly spoken to representatives of Jackson about a long-term residency.

Trump and Ruffin are partners in Trump International Hotel & Tower, which is being built behind the New Frontier.

"Everything I do is the best, and everything Phil Ruffin does is the best, and this would be no exception," the magazine quotes Trump as saying.

Jackson's spokeswoman, Raymone K. Bain, didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press Wednesday for comment.

The 46-year-old pop star is on trial in Santa Maria, Calif. He is accused of molesting a boy, now 15, at his Neverland ranch, giving him alcohol and conspiring to hold the boy's family captive in 2003.

"There'd be moral clauses in the contract," Wishna told Us. He added that Jackson would draw more than the $80 million Dion grossed in 2004. Dion continues to perform at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Newton is touring the country.

Jackson has in the past reportedly been interested in performing in Las Vegas. The singer is a frequent visitor to the city, where his parents and sister LaToya live.

lol now....I don't know what's wrong with Donald. No, I don't think it's a bad idea for Michael, but why in the world would Donald even be thinking about something like this? I would think it's a really bad time to ask him to even think about doing something like that.
And I swear I heard they weren't even friends anymore. I didn't know they even liked each other.

"Everything I do is the best, and everything Phil Ruffin does is the best, and this would be no exception," the magazine quotes Trump as saying.
lol whoa Donald. He's pretty confident isn't he?

That would be sooo cool if he performed in Vegas!! My aunt Mel lives in Las Vegas, and when I talked to her last, she told me that she even knows the hotel that he stays at when he goes there and she told me that if she were to ever find out about Mike performing there, that she would buy me a ticket so I could finally get to see him!!! Ah.. ! I hope it's true!!!! :D

Maybe is not such a bad timing... The trial will come to an end soon, in summer this will be over. And Michael will need money, to refresh his budget, so... I think it's a preety good idea. But Michael will need rest also...

I don't know if they were still friends or they weren't friends anymore, all I know is that after all these stupid allegations started, Truman opened his house for Michael for him to relax and spend some days far away from media madness. ( I don't remember its right location right now...) Anyway I thought it was a very nice gesture. Maybe they are still friends.

I think Trump offering Michael that opportunity will only help Michael's public image further. Not too many people more watched or respected than Trump right now, his vote of confidence cause he wants "the best" will resonate loudly. I'd pay a pretty penny to see Michael in Vegas. I wonder what a ticket would cost?? Hmmmm...

I think I read that they spent their very first night together there.

Michael ordered grilled salmon and cucumber salad for dinner.

This would be great for Michael! Do you have any idea how many people would pay top dollar to see him perform? & in the glamorous city of Vegas? I'd sure as hell go.

hmmmm
what about Elvis Syndrome though people? he went dooownhill when he was playing vegas. It might just be me, but i think playing vegas would cheapen his performance, like, cabaret or something? especially as he probably wouldnt be doing so much dancing anymore. does anyone agree or am i wrong again?
