I got this from MJJF, so I thought I'd post this here too to warn you all:

If you recieve an email claiming that Michael has attempted suicide do not open it. This email contains a virus. Someone is trying to target the fans by creating an e-mail that fans are bound to open. If you open it, it will infect your computer. Spread the word as fast as possible.

I was about to post this about it:

Just thought I'd warn you all about this. Apparently there have been false news reports going around claiming to be breaking news that Michael Jackson tried to kill himself. It is completely false and the email contains a virus. If you open the email your computer will become infected with the virus. Spread this around as much as you possibly can among other MJ communities because it's targeted at MJ fans.

LOL, Im glad its been done already though:)

I think someone in my house opened it cause a virus pop up just came up that said..."Trojen Horse-Jackson suicide" . If I thought I was pissed off before, now its just got a whole lot better and to top it off I am mentally challenged with computers so I have no clue what to do now.

This is by far one of the most disgusting things I have ever read. Who the **** makes a virus about someone killing themselves..that is seriously really disturbing. What kind of loser goes.."Hey Michael Jackson killing himself would make a funny virus."

*off to go smoke some crack and slap random strangers on the street*

Hackers use Jackson rumor to spread virus
Friday, June 10, 2005 Posted: 1529 GMT (2329 HKT)

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands (Reuters) -- Emails claiming pop star Michael Jackson, on trial on sex abuse charges, has tried to kill himself are being spread by hackers as a means to break into computers, a British anti-virus firm said on Friday.

The hackers have sent emails with the subject "Re: Suicidal attempt" and the message text: "Last night, while in his Neverland Ranch, Michael Jackson has made a suicidal attempt", said security software specialists at Sophos.

Jackson is awaiting a California court verdict on charges of child molestation.

The email asks recipients to click on a link that takes them to a Web site which secretly installs malicious code on their computers.

"If you click on the link, the Web site displays a message saying it is too busy, which may not surprise people who think it might contain genuine breaking news about Michael Jackson," said Carole Theriault, security consultant at Sophos.
