its ok, the reason i had trouble was b/c it was a .gif file and in photoshop you can't move a .gif or .bmp file onto a base, I dont know why but you can't so I couldnt make it any smaller or anything.

when that happens, all you have to do is put the marquee thing around it, copy the image, and paste it into something new.
