FRIDAY AUGUST 24TH 2007-
Fans were bursting with excitement when they arrived for registration!
At registration fans received their badges/passes for the event along
with a gift bags filled with all kinds of goodies!
This day was our "Wizard Of Oz" theme day, so there were tin cans
centerpieces filled with little flowers.
We had some audio/video issues and were unable to put on the video to
our "King Of Oz" production. BUT we came through live on stage with
"Janet & Michael "Tribute Artists back to back!
First Janet Jackson Tribute Artist Raquel opened up with "Trust." Then
Michael Jackson Tribute Artist David G. opened with "Wanna Be Startin
Somethin!"
Complete with dancers Julie and Jason, and many costume changes.
As the end of the show got closer "Rhythm Nation," was the closer for
"Janet," and the fans went wild. Then came "Billie Jean," and they got
even more wild!
Just as seemed it was over here comes the duet "Scream," with both
"Michael & Janet."
This was definitely the highlight of the night and a favorite of most
fans!!
After the show the fans took pictures and danced until 1am. A lot of us
were not ready to go lol!
SATURDAY AUGUST 25TH 2007-
Things went a lot smoother and the fans were greeted by “Captain
Jack,” for our pirate themed party. It was time to enjoy a good dinner
lol!
The buffet dinner consisted of, tossed green salad, pasta salad,
ceaser’s salad, lemon chicken, shrimp newberg, roast turkey smothered in
gravy, fried rice, garlic mashed potatoes, buttered corn, and kinds of
cakes. It was delicious!
We gave out free raffle tickets for free gifts, and enjoyed watching
DVD’s and music of the Jackson’s! As we were preparing to start our
2nd “season” of MJ Pop Pop Idol, Majestic showed up and got on the
stage and gave a speech that rallied the fans. As he was ending his
speech he announced “PLEASE WELCOME JOE JACKSON!!!”
We were taken completely by surprise! Of course the fans went wild with
joy and excitement as they took picture after picture after picture
lol!
Mr. Jackson “hung out” with us for a bit and had some food, and
seemed to be enjoying himself! As he left we gave him one of our goodie
bags as wanted to give him something lol and he said he was going to eat
it (the snacks inside the bag) in the car lol.
Then it was time for the MJ Pop Idol show. “Ryan Seacrest” hosted
the show and “The Deja’ Vu of Michael Jackson,” opened up and was
also one of the judges.
We picked 2 fans to be the “American Idol type” judges. Every
performer was asked at the end of their performance how they thought they
did and then the judges gave them positive comments regarding their
performance right after.
Komplete sang “Human Nature,” and one of their original songs.
Benito El Nino (aka MJfan4Life) sung “You Are Not Alone.”
Next came Tej’ ai who won the “audience” over and ended up
winning the show!
David G. closed the show with his original music from his new CD called
“The Gemini.” David dedicated one of his songs called “Marry
Me,” to Margie and she was more than excited to say the least lol!
After the show, we all danced the night away with old and new songs and
o course Jackson music!
The bartender was very happy both nights! lol
SUNDAY AUGUST 26TH 2007-
Heal the world themed day. This day was our day to take it easy and
have more fun being silly. We had a little karaoke. Played MJ Bingo, where
all the winners had to say “hee-hee” in order to claim there prize
lol!
We gave away 3 Michael Jackson Conspiracy Books signed by Author
Aphrodite Jones.
Diane Gordon performed as “Beyonce” singing “Work It”
Fans surprised Raquel (it was her birthday) by singing happy birthday
and showering her with cards & gifts!
It was very touching.
Afterwards we resumed our other activities and did our version of
“Heal The World.” We also sang happy birthday with roses in dedication
of Michael’s birthday. Margie, Gino, supplied the roses and Farah
organized us all singing.
As it was getting near the end of the function, it was time for our
“Award Ceremony.”
E’ Casanova, was honored with “The Most Innovative Award, “ for
all that has brought to our Michael fan community as well as the
entertainment industry for tribute artists.
E’ Casanova thanked us all and spoke to the fans about how important
it was to come to these events and bring others with you. E’ Casanova
said “just think if you just brought one person with you,” (the
difference it would make would be huge).
Then E’ Casanova began to read a beautiful speech he wrote, that
brought some of us to tears. It was very emotional. Even though he had to
be somewhere else, he stayed long enough to give the opportunity for all
the fans that wanted to take pictures with him and get signed
autographs pictures from him. The fans were lined up!
After E’ Casanova left we resumed our award ceremony and announced
the winners of the awards.
The award for the favorite designed Jackson web was a tie and went to
Club Michael Jackson and MJSN!
The award for the most united Jackson web went to MJ-Upbeat!
The award for the favorite “Fan Of The Year” went to Mjcool!
The award for the MJ Pop Idol show went to Tej’ ai!
Since this day was also a birthday celebration for Michael Jackson we
got started on our cake!
The cake was beautiful it had a picture of MJ on it (like the one on
our web), wishing him a Happy 49th Birthday!
The time had come to end our event and a lot of us were sad to end it.
And at the same time already talking about next year!
