This is my first poem I posted here
I hope you all like it.
Do you know the little girl in the picture?
The one wearing the sparkly pink shirt
With lots of curly ponytails & bangs
And she's only 7 years old
She's making A's & B's
And is one of the top students of her class
And also received thousands of awards
And is only in the 2nd grade
She's gets everything she wants in the world
Toys, money, clothes, shoes, electronics, games
And has both of her parents in her life
Supplying her with all of her needs
She lives in a small house, with her small family
But has a big one outside those walls
As big as 1/4 of her hometown
And they love her very much
The mayor even knows her
And considers her as "a friend"
For he has known her
Since her early years
For all of the academic awards
He gave her annually
She seems like she's living
The perfect life
But there is always something
Behind that precious smile
She's a lonely soul
With no friends nor associates
That cries at night
Beneath her blankets
She smiles in the hundreds of pictures
She has taken in her lifetime
But once the flashes stop,
Her smile fades quickly
Showing a distinct frown
She has everything a little girl dreams about
And some things that adults would want too
But she sits alone in her room full of enjoyments
With no one to play with
She has a sister & a brother
That she would love to play & spend time with
But her brother spends more time with his girlfriend
And goes to work, so no time
And her sister doesn't want
Anything to do with her
When she would try
To play with her mother
She gets confused easily
Then quits, then sends her to her brother
Who still isn't home
So she goes back
To her sister
Who still says "no"
So she goes back to her room
Alone with her cat, & bored
She can't play with her father
For he doesn't live with her family
Plus he is very old
And doesn't know much about games
She is always bullied & teased
By the mean students at her school
Which forced her into a silent corner
With no friends by her side
She graduated from the school
Looking like a beautiful white princess
And smiled the whole entire time
Until she realized what she had to go through
Once she got to her new school
Once she reached her new school
There were more tears than laughter
For her experience with those older students
Made her life a living hell
Her grades even suffered
Getting C's & D's
From peer pressure & bullying
and still no friends
She graduated from that school
Feeling more relieved than saddened
And prayed every night that at her new school
She would never experience what
She had ever again
Once she reached her new school
She expected the worst, but was wrong
For all of her stress & pain from before
Was long gone, forever
She struggled at first
With her grades
But with the help of her new friends
She brought them back up
And advanced to the next stage
Her brother & sister are trying to
Make up for the years
Of her childhood
That they missed
Because of their neglection
They take her to the movies
10 amusement parks every summer
Buy her $5,000 worth of electronic gifts
And would finally play with her after 8 years of neglect
The girl is all grown up now
Making straight A's again
And has many friends that
She couldn't believe she had
She's happier than ever
With most of her dreams coming true
But the last one she has
She hopes to come true in 2007...
