This is what I get for speaking up!

So I found out that the 'Jackson Family Dynasty' producer Jodi Gomes was posting pics of MJ's kids on her FB and tagging them. I was really angry so I sent her an email saying that the kids deserve their privacy. She replied with a very nasty email. saying that she spends as much time with them as her own kids and that Michael never hid his kids from his fans and that fans take comfort in seeing them happy after such a hard year for them. She told who am I to speak on something I know nothing about.

I'm sorry if I am overprotective, but I'm sorry who wants their kids pics all over the internet? I think they deserve privacy. So sorry for trying to stand up for what Michael would have wanted!

Sorry I'm really upset :(

I do think think the fans find comfort in seeing the kids happy after this hard year. You can find many pictures of the kids online being happy not via personal facebook. I don't think she should be posting private pictures of the kids on facebook. There are enough pictures of them available to the public as is. She has to know that if she post private pictures then they will end up in magazines or other tabloid sites. She shouldn't have been rude to you and she should have understood your point. It is an invasion of privacy to put up private pictures of the kids without Katherine's and the children's consent. I doubt they would consent to that. I'm sure they know, their privacy isn't what it used to be.

MJfan01, I agree! She didn't need to be coming at you all hostile and she has no business posting pics of the kids on her facebook. That's a public networking site and those pics are private. We know the kids are fine! They're strong like their daddy, but they need their privacy and don't need people gawking at them all the time. Leave those kids alone! They're not celebs and didn't choose to be in the public spotlight. They were pretty much pulled in because of who their father was and I highly doubt that Mike would be okay with his kids being plastered all over facebook.

Nope, those aren't private. The paparazzi is all over Hawaii. Those pics are all over the net. But still, I don't understand why she would put those on her facebook....

If she did not want attention or want anyone to voice their opinion about her putting those pics on Facebook, then why the fcuk did she post them there?! She KNEW it would attract attention, right?
She stated that it was not your place to criticize her putting the pics up?
Who said it was her place to post them?
If ANYONE puts ANYTHING on FaceBook, be prepared for the drama that may follow.
Everybody and their MAMMA saying ish about Michael since he passed on talk shows, panels, and the like,
as soon as a fan says something, people wanna get their ass up on their shoulders.
Screw that! You didn't do anything wrong. She shouldn't have posted them if she didn't want attention. Period.

Michael hid his kids because like any parent he didn't want them to be stalked by perverts with cameras hiding in the bushes. The paparazzi are too narrow minded to comprehend that their actions are sick. This woman should not be tagging Michael's children on a profile that is public. MAYBE if it were a private profile that only had personal friends, but not where others can see. I know I don't have a right to view these things, hell I even feel guilty looking at pictures of his children on here. You didn't do the wrong thing by speaking up.

I'm a little on the fence on this one. On the one hand, I agree with MJFan01...it is comforting to see the kids happy and living their lives despite the fact that their father was taken(pretty much) at random and that there still is no one held morally/legally and ethically responsible for Michael's death. On the other hand, we all know how Mike felt about tabloids, the instances when he felt like he was suffocating in the ocean of cameras and reporters. Now that he's gone, it's up to the remaining family and ultimately the children to protect themselves from being followed around. I have to ask was Jodi a close friend of Michael or the family? I could understand if one of his siblings or friends posted these photos...but just some random lady?

Do those kids have a facebook or myspace? No! If they can't have one for privacy reasons why should this person be allowed to post pics of them on facebook?

I read that they do not have facebooks or myspace accounts. I'm sure they would be freaked out to see pictures of them vacationing. Up close and personal pictures at that.

Leah she's a close friend

One would think she'd know and respect Michael's wishes when it came to his kid's media exposure :/...

Wait these are up close pictures we're talking about? Well if that's the case I can understand why some people would be upset with everything. Sadly though, as long as they are famous because of their father, this won't be the last time we hear stories of people taking intimate photos of the family.

REAFU!
WE MISSED YOU!
That rhymes! :2tongue

Miss the forum too! Been busy with summer school so that's why I haven't been as active :biggrin !

You were right. All the Googling only increases the chance the buzzards will descend on them that much quicker. Leaking photos and videos is nothing more than exploitation. They are going to be major personalities, their father and their money has ensured that. They need time, robbing them of what is left of their childhood is a sure way for one of them to end up like their DaD. Alone in a crowded room, looking for people to connect with, looking for people who will treat them like regular people. Leave them alone, give them space.

If you want to show your love for their father try reading some of the information found here and elsewhere about the allegations, the liars and the trial. Help with stopping the Media from continuing to use Michael as a dirty tool to bring in ratings and profit. Help support those who came make the effort to be at the trial. Find a group which is working to uncover his name at the Gardener Elementary School or to support efforts to bring his knowledge of art and music to academia. There's plenty to do rather than taking away the few years they have left to be children.
