On cross, Rio "supposedly" said that Michael had wine delivered to his room. Rio, another cousin, Gavin and Star were present. Michael left and went to the bathroom, Gavin and Star took the wine up to the 2nd level of the bedroom, then ran back downstairs without the wine. Rio then went upstairs and saw the bottle of wine opened with little missing from it and that Michael didn't seem to be concerned about it.

Young Jackson Cousin Testifies in Trial

By TIM MOLLOY, Associated Press Writer

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A young cousin of Michael Jackson testified in the pop star's child molestation trial Wednesday that he saw Jackson's accuser and the boy's brother fondle themselves in a guest cottage at the singer's Neverland ranch.

The defense elicited the testimony in an apparent effort to show that the accuser engaged in sexual activity on his own.

Rijo Jackson said he was staying with the brothers one night in 2003 when they turned a television to a station showing naked women, began masturbating and suggested he do the same.

"I said I didn't want to 'cause it was nasty," said the witness, who was 10 years old at the time.

On cross-examination by prosecutor Ron Zonen, the boy said he went to Michael Jackson's bedroom to sleep after the incident and told the pop star what the boys were watching on TV.

"He didn't believe it. He thought they were cool and they wouldn't do that," Rijo Jackson said.

Zonen asked whether he told Jackson about the masturbation and the witness said he had not.

"I didn't wanna like tell him 'cause I was scared," Rijo Jackson said.

Jackson, 46, is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy in February or March 2003, plying the boy with wine and conspiring to hold him and his family captive.

Prosecutors claim the conspiracy was intended to get the family to make a video rebutting a TV documentary in which the accuser appeared with Jackson and the pop star said he allowed children to sleep in his bed but that it was non-sexual.

Rijo Jackson also testified that he once saw the boys take wine that had been delivered to Michael Jackson's master bedroom.

He said the wine was delivered to the downstairs area of the room and they offered to take it upstairs to the singer.

The witness said Michael Jackson was in a bathroom when chef's assistant Angel Vivanco brought in the wine with the cork still in the bottle. He said the brothers took the wine upstairs and that when he next saw the bottle the cork was removed and some of the wine was gone.

Rijo Jackson said he didn't tell his cousin because he wasn't sure the boys drank the wine.

Prosecutors contend Jackson gave the boys wine and showed them adult materials as a precursor to sex, but the defense contends the boys were troublesome and got those things on their own.

Rijo Jackson also testified he saw the boys steal items from drawers including money belonging to a chef. He also said he saw them run out of ranch manager Jesus Salas' office with money he believed they had taken.

The witness said he didn't tell Michael Jackson about the alleged stealing because the singer was often away. He said he did try to tell a maid about money being stolen from the kitchen.

On Tuesday, Simone Jackson, a 16-year-old cousin of the singer said she once saw the boys steal wine from a kitchen at Neverland in February 2003.

In other testimony Tuesday, Los Angeles county social worker Irene Lavern Peters testified that she met with the accuser and his family during the time they claim they were Jackson's captives and they praised him and denied any sexual abuse.

Peters said she met with the mother and her three children on Feb. 20, 2003, after the airing of a documentary that drew attention to Jackson's relationship with the boy who is now his accuser.

Peters said she specifically questioned the accuser about his relationship with Jackson.

"I asked him if he had ever been sexually abused by Michael Jackson and he became upset. He said, 'Everybody thinks Michael Jackson sexually abused me. He never touched me,'" she said.

She said the accuser told her Jackson "was very kind to him and treated him like a father."

On the break:

Jim Moret:
-Rio helped and hurt defense.
-Rio said he walked in on Gavin and Star watchin porn and masturbating in seperate beds. Rio ran out of room and spent the night with MJ.
-Rio said that MJ ordered wine to his upper bedroom when the Gavin and Star were in the room and knew they were in the room. Rio said he left MJ room and when he came back the wine was open. Gavin and Star drank some wine. Rio said that MJ was told about Gavin and Star drinking the wine and didnt do anything about it.
-Rio testimony shows sexual awareness of Gavin and Star when MJ wasnt around. That MJ didnt teach them this behavior.

Craig Smith:
the point of putting Chris Robinson was to show that Debbie Rowe interview was not scripted.
Defense wants to show sexual sophistication of both boys when MJ wasnt around. But the prosecution can say 12 year old boys masturbating is not all that unusual.
Chris Robinson saying Debbie wasnt scripted undermines conspiracy theory again.

You something some odd here. If Michael had wine deliver to him and the brothers were in the room with him, doesn't prove he gave it to them? How could this somewhat hurt the defense?

Jim Moret's comments are in contradiction to the AP report. The AP report says that the Rijo did not tell MJ about the drinking because he wasn't sure they took any. Also, Moret's comments suggests that MJ knew this or was present, however, Rijo says MJ was in the bathroom and not present. Also worth note..AP states that the kids were watching some program on T.V. On other reports, it sounds worse. Probably wishful thinking.

The difference in the defense and the prosecution is evident. The defense puts on the truth and nothing but the truth. While the prosecution puts on pathological liars every chance they get and duck and dodge they're logical witnesses like the social workers.

Can't wait until we zero in on the date changes.

I'm sure the jury is taking note of that.

The fact that Michael didn't do anything hurts the defense, at least...that's what he's saying.

Of course they could say that. But the allegation is that the boys were good a pure and MJ corrupted them. Making them swear, drink, masturbate and become destructive.

Maybe Michael didn't do anything right then in Rijo's presence and waited until later.

Dd is reporting that Larry King and Viner are not going to be allowed to testify. Is that right? Or another wishful thought on her part.

..

It seems as though we have been imformed about Rio's testimony in two entirely different forms. In Linda Deutsch's contribution to the AP report of Michael's cousin's testimony, she states that Rio never informed Michael about the wine incident because he was unsure as to wether Michael had consumed some of the alcohol or if the accuser and his brother did.

Now in the brief account of rio's testimony reported by Savannah Guthrie, she states that Michael was informed about this incident and didn't seem to be concerned. Now.. If Michael hadn't been informed by his cousin about this occurence then what would he have to be concerned about?

It seems as though we have a spinner on our hands

Edit - Sorry I was unaware that someone else evaluated this point :S

From the AP article above:

Rijo Jackson said he didn't tell his cousin because he wasn't sure the boys drank the wine.

Rijo told about the T.V. show not the wine. Aleast according to Linda D. of AP. I tend to trust Linda a little more because she isn't a spotlight hog and she atleast has to take the time to write her story. The T.V pundits step on each other trying to get to the camera and tell "what happened"
