Rita Cosby Exclusive Interview with Ahmad and Juwad Eletab
April 16th, 2005
Joining me now for an exclusive interview are two people on the witness list for the Jackson defense. They may be called. Ahmad Eletab has visited Neverland a dozen times and his brother Juwad has been there four times. Welcome to both of you guys.
Rita: Ahmad, you stayed at Neverland a number of times. Did you ever stay in Michael Jackson's bedroom?
Ahmad: I didn't sleep in there -- but I walked around, had fun in there and played.
Rita: What did you see, what did it look like?
Ahmad: Just looked like a teenager's room. He has a whole bunch of collectibles, trophies, awards that he earned, and poster of movies and stuff.
Rita: And, where did you stay the other times when you were there?
Ahmad: Just everywhere in the house. You don't really stay anywhere, you just walk around the house and have fun.
Rita: And you stayed in -- I was there, I've talked about my trip to Neverland a little bit but -- in the back there, there's a movie theater and there's a bedroom back there. That's where you stayed, right?
Ahmad: Yeah. That's where I stayed. Upstairs.
Rita: Do you know if you're gonna be called as a witness or not?
Ahmad: Hopefully I will be. They keep telling me --
Rita: You wanna be.
Ahmad: Yeah, I wanna be a witness.
Rita: And what are you gonna say?
Ahmad: Just uh, I can't really say it like 'well I'm gonna say', but I just want to help him with all I can help him with and just be honest.
Rita: Did anything improper happen there that you saw?
Ahmad: Nothing at all. Nothing.
Rita: Umm, I gotta ask you. I know you're a young guy Juwad, but you stayed over there as well, right? One night?
Juwad: Yes.
Rita: Did you ever see anything improper -- did Michael Jackson ever do anything wrong to you?
Juwad: No, not at all.
Rita: Did he ever try to give you alcohol?
Juwad: No.
Rita: Did he ever try to touch you improperly, or did you ever see him touching anyone else improperly?
Juwad: No.
Rita: What kind of a guy is Michael Jackson?
Juwad: He's a very nice guy. He's not a molester. And...
Rita: Do you feel he's a good person and --
Juwad: Yes.
Rita: Do you think he could have done these things that he's being accused of now?
Juwad: Umm... (Thinking)
Rita: It doesn't sound like it based on what you're saying. It sounds like you've always seen good things, right?
Juwad: Yes.
Rita: And, Ahmad. Did you ever see anything unusual or any -- did you ever see booze around the place?
Ahmad: No. He doesn't drink booze, it's all lies. Well, he drinks 'cause he's an adult, but that's only when he's with adults.
Rita: Did you ever see him give it to any kids - anyone like your brother's age?
Ahmad: No. He doesn't even drink with kids. No, never.
Rita: You know the accuser.
Ahmad: Yeah.
Rita: What kind of guy is this accuser?
Ahmad: From what I saw he's just -- like he's a smart alec. And he's just, I can't really talk about it but he's not how the press are putting him like to be; he's not an innocent little boy like everyone thinks he is.
Rita: Do you believe he's making this up?
Ahmad: Yeah, he is making this up.
Rita: And why are you so confident in that?
Ahmad: Because, like if you look at the mother's testimony and how -- the press even knows that the mother can control her kids and just how she testified. And, it's just, the mother has all the influence over the kids so that's why.
Rita: Now Juwad, your mom never had a problem with you staying over there, right?
Juwad: No.
Rita: And why not, Ahmad? You know, a lot of people say "why do parents let kids stay over?"
Ahmad: Because the parents -- when they see Michael and meet him -- they know how he's just a nice guy. He's just open-hearted, he loves everybody. That's how he is. That's why they can trust him. And usually the kids that they let stay there are smart enough to tell the parents "Yeah he touched me," in any way, if anything does happen. You know what I'm saying, things like that.
Rita: So your mom was ko with you staying there -- your mom trusts you over there and trusts them, obviously?
Juwad: Yes, yes.
Rita: When was the last time you talked to Michael Jackson, Ahmad?
Ahmad: I don't know exactly when, but I think in the summer sometime.
Rita: I heard you got a surprise phone-call?
Ahmad: Yes.
Rita: What did he say to you?
Ahmad: He just like talked, said "how are you doing," stuff like that. I can't really --
Rita: How's he holding up?
Ahmad: He's doing good. The only reason why he's doing good right now is because of his kids. His kids are keeping him alive and all the other stuff.
Rita: How do you think this is going to end up - the trial?
Ahmad: I think he's going to win, and when he wins its going to be a fun time with him. He's gonna go on with his music career and he's going to be big again.
Rita: Alright both of you guys. Thank you for coming, we appreciate you being here. Thank you both for being here.
Rita: Ahmad, did you ever meet the mother? I know you met the accuser --
Ahmad: No, I never met the mother. but --
Rita: What did you hear about her from --
Ahmad: I just... Like I asked the accuser about his mother and he's like "Oh, the press all lies. She's not crazy," and this and that. But, I could just tell - their like Ghetto kind-of family. Their not like a close-nit family and stuff like that.
Rita: Juwad, why do you think people are accusing Michael Jackson now of this? What do you think is motivating them and pushing them to do this?
Juwad: Because, sometimes they want money, sometimes they just want to do this.
Rita: Do you think that they want money? You think that they're out -- do you think that people take advantage of Michael Jackson?
Juwad: Sometimes. Yeah.
Rita: And what do you think, Ahmad?
Ahmad: Yeah, very much.
Rita: What do you think is driving this trial?
Ahmad: I don't want to say too much but there's a big conspiracy with like what Michael said -- Sony, and people like that, they're just, they want his music catalogs and everything he owns.
Rita: Ahmad, you met Macaulay Culkin, right?
Ahmad: Yeah, I met him once.
Rita: Did you meet him with Michael?
Ahmad: Yeah, it was at the 30th Anniversary Concert. It was brief, though.
Rita: Did you sense there was anything -- because there have been some allegations that --
Ahmad: No. They're like brothers. They're just like brothers.
Rita: Do you think a lot of people are confusing affection for going over the line?
Ahmad: Yeah. But right now when -- if Macaulay testifies he's going to prove everyone wrong that Michael's not a pedophile. And I know he's not going to cry or anything like that, he's just going to tell everybody the straight truth that "Michael is not a pedophile. He didn't molest me or anybody around me."
Rita: Alright guys, thank you very much everybody for being here. Juwad, also we thank you for being here too. You're adorable, thank you.
