ya kno, its human nature to want someone of the same ethnicity looking back at you, its very comforting. and ****, job interviews are longer than 10 minutes!!

I am worried what's the opening statement? is it by MJ or by Judge Melville?
its by the lawyers!!!!! :hitting

I think the prosecution usually goes first, followed by the defense, and then the prosecution again if they wish.

okay I'm really pissed right now. This jury selection is complete bullshit! First they eliminate 9 jurors for stupid reasons, and then they just pick the jury in 10 minutes which is dominantly white. This is ****ed up! Also NOTHING has been said about these new leaks, and it's happened TWICE! why the hell would Melville just ignore it? I can only hope there is a mistrial and that this bullshit won't last much longer.
sorry I had to get that off my chest. :tickingti

Well I'll be damned! Time wise, opening statements starting as soon as next week is no real surprise..the only surprise here is how FAST they actually picked the jury, based on how little time they were actually in court. Five DAYS as opposed to the expected four-five WEEKS! THAT's what took me aback when I found all this out just a little while ago. And no African-Americans AT ALL? While I was never one to believe that this "case" is (soley, at least) about Michael's race, I do not like the fact that African-Americans are completely absent from the jury, either. It just doesn't feel right...

I'm not so sure if I like this set up, folks.. :uh_uh:

Pray for Michael....

The attorneys have yet to choose the eight alternates.

I'm not too clued up on any legal system, let alone Americas so.. could someone fill me in on what this means?

I think this means, the alternate Jurors. Like, if one can't make it...then they call in one of the alternates...am I right? :cryptic

Trace Gallagher report
-says jurors range in age from 20 - 79 years old
-4 hispanics
-the 2 remaining African Americans were thrown off by the prosecution (via their challenges)
-says the remaining black woman, before she was kicked off by the prosecution, said the media and Sneddon was biased
-says Mike was "very animated" and agreeing with her when she was being questioned
-says the black woman remarked "Do you know what it's like to be a black woman in this county?"
-says when she was excused, the black woman remarked: "How is this man going to get a jury of his peers?"
-Gallagher says 10 minutes to question each juror was an extraordinarily short amount of time

Man this is sick... what a dumb asses, kicked off the black woman. She would have been very useful in the jury. The defense has to make an appeal or something. This isn't just acceptable!
God I'm worried...

Damn! That's crazy, I can't believe that lady went off like that in court, I hope the other jurors heard it & thought about it. She was the shit!

So they kick off one BLACK woman because she's TELLING THE TRUTH.

WTF IS UP WITH THIS F'ED UP CALIFORNIA (I'm so ashamed to live 3 hours away from the county) COURT SYSTEM HERE? I KNEW people weren't being fair, but Jesus bloody Christ........

DAMMIT. I AM OFFICIALLY PISSED OFF.

Something tells me, she isn't the only one that feels that way. Someone else could feel that in the jury but not have said anything cause that would get them kicked out.
